Footsteps to Oblivion

This image was taken in February this year. We'd had a period with quite heavy snowfall, and then we had a couple of days with really cold weather. So, first the trees got laden with snow and then the snow froze an made a kind of fur of ice crystals. Just to make things even better, we only have about 6 hours of sunlight that time of the year. And since it is only up for this amount of time, it is very low in the sky all day. Basically making the 6 hours of sunlight a 6 hours sunrise/sunset. :-) This was one of my greatest photo trips ever.
This is taken from a small pier. I saw those little footsteps and just had to try to get them. I loved the way they "walked" into the sun. I am very happy with how little flare I got. I used both a Lee 0.9 soft ND Grad and the Heliopan 105mm Polarizer, and no big issues with flare! Fantastic. :-)

You did a great job! Your split filter was perfect, you can't tell that you used one. Your polarizer was adjusted just right. The focus was tack on. The composition is balanced and invites the viewer into the scene. The lens distortion on the bottom third works in your favor to emphasize the foot prints. Photographing during the "Golden Hour" does make a difference. The shadows in the snow give interesting texture and depth that would be missing any other time.
Questions: How do you keep your camera warm and not fog up the lens? What is the coldest weather in which you have photographed?
Keep on shooting,
