Fire at Vermillion Lakes

This was one of the most insane sunrises I have seen from this location the Vermillion lakes in Banff Ab, my favorite spot to shoot as you can tell from my gallery, I do live closer then anyone in the world to this spot which makes it easy to access :)

Taken this morning

This was taken with my Canon 40d 17-85 5.6 IS lens, ISO 100, blended exposures, 17mm with crop factor 28mm

That's a colour blast! It's great to have Vermillion lake as the set of this impressive light show. Well done!

Hi Simon,
Reds are extraordinary here, what a fantastic scene, it seems to be taken at hell!

What a light show!! My only nit here is the yellows in the clouds seem a little oversaturated relative to the rest of the sky.

Very nice. I've seen so many shots of Rundle that at some point I gotta get up there just to see it. The reds seem ultra intense and I wonder if your Red channel highlights are clipping at all. I'm at my monitor at work so it could just be me. Nice take on a such a wonderful place.

dramatic light, but the highlights seem to be blown out a little. may be you can recover them a bit

Thanks again guys. I have had a look on my friends computer and my monitor is quite old and off so I now realize it is a bit oversaturated in the red and yellow dept...I blame that on my junky computer :)

thanks again

Fantastic that you had this kind of remarkable sky with these peaks as the setting. Jaw dropper! :toast:
