Sunset at Cheyenne....

Bottoms. Cheyenne Bottoms is located in central Kansas, and is a major wetlands set in a bowl. The rim of the bowl is populated by towers and other man-made objects, so there is little way to avoid HOM when going for the grand view. We had scattered showers all day long. It was still raining in town, but there seemed to be clearing to the west so I took a chance to run out to the Bottoms, ~13 miles to the spot I chose. No rain there until just after sunset as I left, but a great look back to the west and the clearing and building storm clouds. Definitely one of the best sunsets I've seen in quite awhile.

To me it is spectacular Rob :)
Perhaps the only thing I would do to it would be cloning that moon.
This take makes me want to visit that place.

Beautiful light. I like the way the clouds lead you into the image and the moon on the left is a plus

Very dramatic. Especially the contrast between the light and dark areas on the right....Izzy

Rob,

Wonderful sky! As someone who will put in the moon, it pains me to say it, but I would clone this moon out. Your cloud and sky is what this is all about. I looked at the larger image and, for the life of me, couldn't see any made-made objects. In the large image, I do see a dark smudge in the lower left hand corner. Fabulous sky!

Thanks for the comments, everybody. Interesting how different the views are on the moon :). Marc, look in the lower right corner, near the bright spot just above the horizon. A tower is visible there, which is why I posted here instead of ES&S.
