Fisher Towers & climbers

These fantastic sandstone pinnacles are part of Fisher Towers, about 20 miles up the Colorado River from Moab, Utah. While hiking the trail below, we noticed rock climbers on the left pinnacle known as Ancient Arts. Two are visible on the shelf below the peak, but their safety lines come down from the summit. A third climber, a woman, summited later, when I was too far away to record it.

This photo was taken at 11:00 am, but the formations are quite dramatic even then.

To see the climbers beter I tried to include a larger image, but failed. Perhaps I can do it as a second post if requested.

I'm new here and still learning. Comments and suggestions welcome.

Canon 40D, 17-85mm lens at 85mm, polarizer, f/9, ISO 400, 1/320 sec, hand held.

Thanks for looking, Dave Thomas, Lesburg, Virginia

You found a nice viewpoint to show the scale of the rock. Other than some compression issues with the image, I like it.

Not me thank you! Nice color and the people give it scale.

We've hiked Fisher Towers several times but have never seen climbers. This image needs a little sharpening (I'm sure it's due to that awful jpeg compression) but I like the composition and color, and the scale of size shown by the climbers.
