Grizzlies

I came back from our trip to Alaska this last summer with 10,000 images. We drove and tented the whole trip. It was great. But it is taking me some time to go through and process the images. I posted an image of these three grizzlies earlier and one comment that was posted was to emphasize the bear looking down more. Here is another image that is cropped to about 70% of the original that is emphasizing that more. All comments are welcome and are very helpful.

Canon 30D
Tokina 80-400
Aperture Priority
Shutter 1/500
Aperture f8
ISO 400
400mm

This looks scary - Technically the photo is very good but it looks like Mother Bear is searching for lunch and right now it looks like you
are on the menu.

Very interesting angle and the look from Mom really makes this image. Way to go.

That is some look the mom is giving the camera. I like the elevated perspective as it emphasizes the size of the bears. Looks like it was raining too.

Wow Richard. I hope you were further away than it looks in the photo. Nice shot though.

Richard, I recall the other post. This is an excellent perspective and it is just too bad you have to give up so much crop to attain it. Exposure on the bears and rock looks good, but the bright sky coming through the trees is an unfortunate element over which you had no option. Thanks for sharing.

Fine image, Richard. Lon has already mentioned the bright sky. I only wish there was a tad more light on the cub to the right, and that the cub to the left was a little more into the frame.

She's certainly giving you the "Stare" Richard and as already mentioned, the angle and POV work well. This is an animal I would love to see in the wild so very envious.

Very interesting to have bears looking down at you, that is certainly what makes this image unique. I only wish the cub on the left was a peeking a bit more over that ridge as well, but you take what you get with wildlife. The shooting conditions were obviously very difficult, shooting up into the bright sky, to such an extend that it was probably impossible to keep that sky from blowing out. All in all an interesting image.
