Antechinus

This Yellow-footed Antechinus is a mouse-like marsupial. I was waiting under some camou for a flycatcher to return to one of its regular perches; a rotten stump, when this little guy appeared from inside.

Now this I like, Rob.

The eye contact with your subject is great and I love the way his little paws are holding onto that branch.

No nits :toast:

What a cool critter Rob. you've got to love those big eyes! Solid comp, though I might consider a slightly tighter crop. Thanks for sharing.

What a look! I like the catch light in the eyes and good detail on the mouse, well done.

Adorable. Love the tentative pose, those big eyes, sweet ears, and EVERYTHING else about it. I can see this as a poster hanging in many a teenage girls room.

Super eyes and I really like how you asked him to pose at the intersection of the diagonal trunk and the horizontal stick! Techs look right on. I would consider cropping some of the oof foreground for a pano presentation, but that becomes a matter of taste.

Thanks for the ID. I'm sure most of us would have passed this off as a mouse photo... I'll assume this is a much rarer critter to capture and offer you major kudos! :toast:

To follow up on Vincent's comment, I would suggest a different crop as well, mainly just to get the subject out of the vertical center plane of the frame.

Such a splended shot.
The face tells the whole story.

Rob, I love the low angle and especially the curious look on this little one's face. Nice work!

Well that's certainly an alert looking little animal. Looks like he's guarding a little gate.
