Black-belled Plover

I am going to post a few images from our trip to Florida last winter (Feb.-Mar.). We went to Mayaka State Parke, Sanibel Island, Corkscrew Swamp, The Everglades and the Keys. We had a great time with lots of image opportunities. This is a Black-bellied Plover in non-breading plumage on the beach at Sanibel Island at sunset.

Richard,

I like the pose of your plover, the head angle and the nice light in the eye as well as the nice light throughout the image. I also like the setting, the size of the plover in the frame and your exposure. This species looks very different when comparing breeding and nonbreeding plumage.

I loved Corkscrew and Myakka when I lived in Florida, one never knew what might show up in the viewfinder.

Nice pose on this knobby kneed bird. I like the wave in the background and the light.

Neat shot, I like the diagonal lines formed by water and shore.

The soft light, nice catchlight and angled shoreline make this shot for me Richard.

I'd normally think an image like this could use some ccw rotation but I find that I really like the diagonal lines in this, they make for a neat composition. I also like the nice soft lighting and where you placed the bird in the frame, well done. :toast:
