My Wonder Lake

This was taken last week up at NH's Lonesome Lake. I was waiting for the Franconia Range to clear at sunset, and a big boy moose came out on cue to pose in the pic. Thought this to be more of a lansdscape with the moose for scale. I have always seen photos of moose at Wonder Lake in Alaska, and this is as close as I've gotten to finding a moose in front of a dramatic mountain back drop. No filters needed to balance the exposure as light levels were pretty even at this time of evening.

Lots of great detail in this one, may be hard to tell with small image. I'm having difficulty uploading larger versions, "Image not found" error. Maybe some of you have had this problem?

Canon 5D Mark II, 100-400L.

I like this one a lot Harry....particularly the little islands of vegetation in the water. In fact, I like with the sky cropped out too, so it only shows up in reflection. And the reflection has just enough blur. Nice one.

Very pretty scene Harry. The colors are wonderful. Perhaps you could selectively lighten the moose to bring up a little more detail on it?

I think I uploaded the wrong shot! My intension was this, a more dramatic view of the moose. Sorry about that.

Whoa - honestly, I didn't even see the moose originally! In the case of the repost, I think the moose is a bit small in the frame here as presented. A very large print would probably work really well, but the moose gets lost in the shuffle a bit (and almost looks like he has fire antlers!) at this size.

David - I am having trouble uploading a larger file size - I have emailed the editors. I agree, the print would have to be large to appreciate the moose.

Harry - Not sure if this is your problem, but you can only do the larger file with the original post, not on a repost. Anyway, I think I can get a good sense of what a larger image would look like...but it would be nice to actually see it.

It's a nice capture...like that reflection. The moose is a real bonus...as it happens I like the pose of the moose better in the first post, but that's a real nit. Good one.
