Reflecting

I've recently returned from a first ever trip to the pacific northwest - Seattle, Vancouver, San Juans - and including a day/night in Mount Rainier at Paradise. I've never seen a snow capped mountain, a glacier, or been that high before, so a lot of mountain firsts for me. And Rainier was just amazing all around.

I think it was a pretty good trip photo wise, but I thought I'd start with a pretty typical shot of Rainier itself. This is from one of the reflection lakes near Paradise. The sun was a bit high and the contrast too, so this is a 5 shot HDR to keep the mountain from blowing out.

Thanks for looking!

Olympus E-520
Zuiko 12-60 @ 17 mm
1/50s - 1/800s 5-shot HDR
f/8.0
Tripod of course
PS CS4 for HDR, tone, sharpening, web prep

Very pretty and crisp - very nice processing, wouldn't have guessed it was a HDR.

Nice reflection of Rainier. I agree, excellent processing I wouldn't have guessed HDR. Well done.
Glad you enjoyed your visit. Did you get a chance to check out Olympic NP? It's equally impressive IMO.
