Another swimming hole ..

This was taken late one afternoon in early September just after the kids had returned to school.

The water is a tiny reservoir in Ivins, Utah, and the kids sure don't stand on ceremony or wait for a locker room here. It's "drop the clothes and go!"

This young man was evidently cold and got out while his friends were still swimming and I couldn't resist taking the shot.

I'm loving this Carol - what a neat shot, and perfect timing. Great choice for B&W too.

Wow, the shallow DOF and B/W really make this pop, Carol! Great job.

Shades of my own youth in the desert Southwest with "cow tanks" spaced every two miles along traditional cattle drive routes out of Mexico. Clothing optional, of course.

That kind of explains how this desert rat fell in love with water and ended up in Alaska, doesn't it? Great memories, and obviously your shot brought them all to the fore. Thanks for that! :toast:

Really like this, Carol. Even though the viewer cannot see his face, to me it looks as if he wishes he were still in there with his pals. Love the pants.

Great timing, Carol. Almost Norman Rockwell for innocence and the B/W is perfect.

Great DOF. The water bg and little bit of land in fg with shoes all about gives a great sense of place. Wonderful shot. A very well taken photograph. Grew up on a lake in Massachusetts and can remember swimming in it until the late September/early October until the coldness became to much to handle. Endless Summers of our childhood. Carol, thanks for the memories with this one

Carol,
This is another one of those images that tells the story, instead of just supporting an article. Excellent crop and perspective to include just enough of the environment, and still concentrate on the wet kid to show what he was doing. Really nice B&W conversion, too.
