I'm not a big fan of the summer so it's good to see it come to an end and give way to the fall and winter months. As the crowds get smaller and you can feel the energy in the air the coast seems to have a new life and for me it is exciting place to be. This is an image from one of the trips I made down there last week. Shot along the Rhode Island coast.

5D, 17-40, 3-stop GND.

Hi Mike - I like the warm glow on the foreground rocks. Minor nit, but just wishing there was a little more sky. I see some great color there.

I too will return to the sea now that the Summer crowds and bland skies will be leaving. Great mix of color and interest capture here, top to bottom. Nice work!

Very nice, Mike. I like the light, even the heavily saturated orange on the horizon. RI. We don't seem to get much of that here.

Hi Mike,

I really like the overall composition and shutter speed and flow of the water. The rocks are well captured at nice angles too and all point towards the sunset. It is also nice to see an image from Rhoe Island on here as it is extremely uncommon. My only suggestion is to slightly darken the water/fg - it seems a tad bit brighter than the horizion. Overall, I think this is excellent work!

The light and the texture on the FG rocks is really compelling here. I like the comp and the only thing I might suggest is to fix the possible barrel distortion at the horizon.

The flow of the rock and water lead through the scene nicely Mike, great comp. If possible, I'd open the rocks to the right just a tad so they better matched the ones on the left.

Beautiful light Mike. Love the foreground rock protruding into the image and the waves action. Nice work.

Fantastic seascape, love the rocks and rushing water. Cracker of a sky too.

Lovely shot Mile. I love the reflected color off the FG rock, and also the great detail there. My only nit (minor) is that I might try to lighten the large rock on the right side to bring out more detail there.

I am always impressed with what you do w/Rhode isalnd coast - I dont know these locations, but I struggle to believe they are from Rhode island. Great seascape with a lot of dynamism here

Superb comp, and there is a lot of drama to this one. :toast:

All sorts of interesting shapes here to draw the eye. The foreground glow provides a good balance to the lighting here.
