Here's Lookin at You Kid
by Bill Leggett
On so many occasions these green tree frogs only offer fairly static poses, often just lying lethargically against their perch, but once in a while when in the early hours they are still active, they cooperate as this one did. Shot in Jean Lafitte NP last Sunday at the end of the Visitor's Center trail, among one of their favorite hangoouts, in the saw grass. This was the only frame I shot, and although I can't remember, I assume this guy jumped off to another location just after I shot this.
This was a 2-second delay exposure to let the camera settle in, and I rotated the original 17 degrees CW to level the head, resulting in about 58% of the orginal frame. AF/MF focus mode focused on the head. Large image included.

7 commentsThis must be one of the cutest pose I have seen. Perfect sharpness of the face and eyes and nice clean bg. Well done. Highlight on the frog's right may be a tad strong and toning down some may improve the image.
Nice BG to go with.
I like how his head pops out from his body and I think your background is terrific.
