For a heavy bird (5-7 lbs), the woodstork is a graceful flyer, especially when soaring.

Wayne, the bird is tack sharp and you got good light on the face. Tough to do. Love the position of the bird in the air and the BG is blurred enough to let the bird take center stage. Well done.

Well worth opening the larger version to see this properly. The background works much better than many would expect.

Wayne, I agree with you 100%, Wood Sotrks are very graceful in flight. I like the background, the flight pose and the comp. Bravo on getting a catchlight in the eye, a challenge to do with this species. Very nice exposure control too

Great image. Very sharp. The larger version brings out the excellent detail you have captured. These birds are lovely as a whole--but that head. In the South we would say, "bless his heart".

Truely excellent shot, love the light hitting on the face and neck, almost irridescent. Also the exposure is dead on, great whites and blacks.
