Five Minute Pocket

A two day venture to to my favorite spot on the Paria Plateau yielded 5 minutes of golden, rain diffused light as the sun slipped between the cloud bottom and the western horizon. The rest of the day was shrouded in overcast and light rain, but these few minutes were purely inspiring.

Nikon D90, Tokina 12-24 @ 12mm, f/16. ISO 200, 1/20s, pattern metering. Single exposure.

Striking image. Maybe I would have loved to have a dark bottom area, in the shade, to reinforce the depth and create more stability...But the image really rocks as it is. The brooding sky and the complementary colours really make for the dynamism of the image.

You just have to love it when that light comes out after a day like you've described, and for just those few minutes, everything glows.

Beautiful, warm, sweet light - captured wonderfully. Great color, saturation, contrast - it's all good. I even like the inclusion and hint of the passing storm on the left. Nice work.

Thanks for looking and commenting. My desktop hard drive failed 30 minutes after processing and posting the image, so I am back with a new laptop.
