Hi everyone, this is my first upload into this particular gallery having only joined this site yesterday.

I feel a bit humble uploading here after having a quick browse through all the fantastic landscape photos you people have uploaded.

This was taken late afternoon at Nash Point on the Heritage Coast in South Wales, UK.

Sony A350
Sigma 10-20 EX
0.8 seconds
f16
ISO 100
10mm
Cokin X-Pro 2 stop ND grad
Tripod

Hope you like it and feel free to comment, good or bad.

Geoff.

First, may I say welcome to NPN. A wonderfully organized jumble of layers! The composition is excellent. I love the variation of textures and shapes! The sky is processed a little too lightly for my tastes, but easily changed if you want to experiment.

I missed your first post, but this is a heck of a beginning! :toast:

Wow! Tons of neat rocks, textures, and patterns there. This place looks filled with potential. Nice shot, and welcome.

I like it, I'm not a landscape photographer (yet) but I feel I am about to head in that direction.
Two points: for me I think I would like to have seen one of the large boulders in the foreground appear to be a bit bigger than the other one, perhaps get a tad closer to the one on the left.
2nd, I was wondering why you used a 2 stop grey grad? :wavey:

Thanks everyone

I used a 2 stop ND grad angled just to cover the top right corner cos the sky was a lot brighter than it looks in this photo, you can just see the tell-tale darkening of the rocks on the right horizon.

Welcome! Excellent comp and light, and the different shapes and layers of rocks is a very interesting subject.

Very strong comp, Geoff, and very interesting frame. Wonderful light and textures here. Can't think of anything to recommend.

Welcome Geoff! :wavey:

Fascinating subject. I like the sand to boulders to layers to cliff to sky flow. Nicely composed. My only thought would be to return for more sky action or color.
