Lynx

Lynx, female, in the Bavarian Forest, captive. The Bavarian forest has captive animals, but not zoo like...very lage enclosures and sometimes animals are hard to find. The place is visited by many photographers in the wintertime, well I do also;-), but autumn colors and light can add so much to a photo, that both seasons are my favorite. It’s almost autumn again!
This female ( 15 years of age BTW) did what cats do…nothing..she sat there for hours. I waited for her to look over her right shoulder, having this pic in mind for result. Nothing spectacular going on, just a cat being a cat.

Very nice photo. I like the environment the lynx is in and the expression on her face. I like the way you handled the exposure in this image. Thanks for sharing.

Very sharp photo. I like shadow DOF here to isolate the subject, however, I find the tree at right side of the frame distracting. The reason is that tree is quiet sharp since it falls closely on same focal plane as the Lynx.

HI Loulou

Brilliant image of this beautiful cat I love the whole setting here. I don't mind that its captive, its still a good image

Lovely Loulou! Maybe not spectacular in the sense of action or behaviour, but to me this is spectacular for the artistic quality created by composition and lighting, which IMO should be the goal of an artist above any spectacular action shot. I like this a lot. However, I do agree with Jim about the tree on the right and by blocking it off I realized that cropping that tree out, the image improves. Thanks for sharing. :toast:

Beautiful light on this lynx. I agree about the right edge tree, and think you can easily remedy that with a crop to 4x5 ratio! Good posting.
