This is one handsome and impressive lion. I like the warm lighting and the subtle textures of his mane. Superb composition Ingrid.

Regal looking is right. The detail is beautiful but the sun is a bit bright on the face. I'd selectively lower the exposure on those parts just to recover the highlights.

Great subject, nicely posed. If you shot this in raw, I agree you might be able to recover some highlight detail as well as from the darker shadows in post processing. I really like the quality of the warm light.

Very nice lion photo, I also agree about toning down the highlights on his face. Thanks for sharing it is a neat photo.

Wonderful shot of this handsome male, Ingrid. I would love to see some more room on the right if you have any. As mentioned, selectively toning down the highlights will make this image more attractive.

Regal is certainly a fitting description Ingrid. This is a very impressive lion portrait. I do echo the comments made about the brightest areas, but that is an easy fix. I do wish for a sliver more space at the top and believe a slightly lower angle would have possibly resulted in a better BG (not that this one is bad ).

Thank you all for your useful comments - I guess you were right
I tried to tone down the highlights a bit and gave him a bit more room in the frame
I can't change the angle anymore, I'm afraid, Vincent

I am a bit puzzled as to why this second upload looks so red all of a sudden, though. I uploaded in sRGB as usual. Can anyone give me a clue? Thanks!!!
