Colorado Columbine

From Yankee Boy Basin in Colorado:

I've always enjoyed trying to photograph these beauties. I liked the "pose" of this flower with the unopened bud next to it. Interested in your thoughts.

Beautiful image Keith. Great pose and I love the bud. I think I'd normally prefer more dof but given the sharpness in the center and the movement away in the flower's extremities, It doesn't bother me. Your lighting is also perfect for my tastes. Outstanding columbine image.

Keith: Oh this is FINE! I especially like the lighting and the DOF renders the BG unobtrusive enough that it doesn't distract or detract and yet it clearly identifies this as a wild flower. Many kudos. >=))>

Really nice use of the light in this shot. I also like the pof as my eye moves from bloom to bud and back. Well done.

A very beautiful image, Keith !! The flower is presented with just the right dof and a sharp centre and its positioning with the bud alongside makes for a delightful composition. i also love the colour combinations against the dark bg.
