Magnifying glass

The small water droplet acting as a magnifying glass.

Techs:
Nikon D300, Tamron 180mm macro, tripod
f/13, ISO200, focus stacked from 2 images - one for the bubble & one for the details inside the bubble.

Critiques welcome.

Cool effect. Interesting that the view in the droplet is in focus but the yellow center of the flower is beyond the DOF.

Interesting and beautiful Balakumar. I like it very much. I might play with curves on it a bit though or bring the contrast up on the fg petals. The whites seem a touch flat to me but it may just be my monitor. Very well done.

Balakumar:
A very creative image. Like how you have emphasized the focus on the drop by keeping the rest of the flower OOF. Striking yellow bg tends to compete with the center of the flower slightly... maybe a darker bg might be better?? Don't really know but may be worth exploring.

Balakumar: Very cool view. I am curious about the BG. It kind of bothers me a bit as the color kind of competes with the rest of the subject. Nice job on the stack.>=))>

Excellent magnifying effect using the water drop as the lens there, Bala :toast: :toast: - great thinking there to combine two shots.

A different colored background might have increased the pop feel for the photo.

Neat idea, Balakumar,

And a lovely job stacking images.

One suggestion, and that would be to make the yellow background just a bit more subtle so it doesn't detract from your image.

Cheers,

Carol

Hi Balakumar :wavey: A very imaginative and creative shot. The foreground is very striking! i would have cropped the upper section above the yellow disk.

Thank you all for the comments. The yellow BG was intentional to have similar colours in the frame. However, I totally agree with the fact that it currently seems over-powering.
I shall reduce the yellows in the BG as Carol suggested to make it less prominent.
