Peaceful Desert

This photo was shot back in February in the Four Peaks’ area, off highway 87 on the way to Payson, Arizona. Great place year round to take photos. There is snow on the peaks in winter, and it’s a nice place in the summer for the monsoons.
I’d really like to thank Tony for his actions tutorials/down loads and his hard work. They have helped me immensely.

Beautiful conditions in the Sonoran desert Kyle. The light and atmospheric conditions surrounding Four Peaks is spectacular and the desert looks wet and vibrant. Overall, I do think the desert looks a little bright in relation to the amount of light that is in the sky, but again, that's a personal choice. Overall, I like the image very much, except for the noticeable grad lines in the upper branches of the Ocotillo bush. Folks on here will notice that, but the average viewer probably wouldn't...very nice capture.

Beautiful shot of the Four Peaks Area, I love it out there. Great light, wonderful sky.

How are you compressing your pictures? It would be nice to see it better quality.

I really like the comp, and the color is great. Sweet light also. The larger version is great for showing the peaks in the clouds. :toast:

Kyle,

this is a beautiful Sonoran desert landscape. Great balance between the sky and land; the cholla and soft light are wonderful and of course the sky, beautiful.

Not sure what Joel is seeing, but to me all looks great. You can see the spines of the saguaro on the right, the brush has nice detail in the foreground, the octillo - I see no lines or halos and I see no pixelation in the sky. Both small and large versions look great.

I'm a little torn on the presence of the octillo. The good news is that with those skinny branches the plant doesn't really obstruct much - and it's better placed to the side than smack in the middle, so I guess I like it fine...

Thanks for posting this one.

Beautiful sky Kyle. The composition is wonderful and I also like the light on the foreground and midground plants.

Gorgeous scene and fine rendering. Love the elements you included. I kind of like how you included just part of the ocotillo.

Hi Kyle,

amazing location, the cactus population is astonishing =O also the light is sweet to the foreground, the colours through this photograph are very beautiful, especially those of the sky. There is a hot/cold mixture, just pleasant
