This was taken on the only Loch in Scotland where the Grebes Breed. The haze was created by sunlight shining through trees on the far bank, the clear area formed when the sun was directly behind the largest tree.

Canon 40D, Sigma 300-800, 1/400th sec at f8 and iso200

Lovely image and bird Graham, I especially like the vignette effect of the brighter greens toward the edges of the frame.
