The sky is amazing! The silhouette...not so amazing  I think with a sky like this you want something as uncomplicated as possible--for example if you took a real small piece of this, the sparsely branched tree about 1/3 from the lhs--and just used that as your fg, than this would have been stunning.

Hi, Stan-thanks for the idea, I to thought the sky was lovely and never considered that there was too much silhoutte showing. :wavey: Did I do this right? I am trying to keep all of the colors of the sky in the photograph.

well--I wasnt suggesting a crop, i was suggesting an idea for next time  Maybe a telephoto shot might have been stronger. Im just saying the silhouette is just a bit too 'scattered', it pulls your attention every which way when the focus should be on the sky and maybe one or two strong fg silhouettes. Just my take. Not an easy thing to convey in a photo, especially if you were improvising at the moment and trying to make the best of the conditions given you. I think in your situation, I would have done one of two things, well make that three: 1) focus on one or two strong subjects, like that one attractive tree (would have required at least 200mm), 2) go weird/abstract and cover the whole frame with branches--like a tight crop of the extreme urhc. Course, id be the only one who liked the photo then.... 3) run like heck to some body of reflecting water--even if its a mud puddle
