One from my April trip to San Diego County with Charlie that I have only just processed. This perch is what this bird chose.

1D MkIV, 500mm + 1.4X, 1/4000 @ f8, ISO800, afternoon light, tripod.

I like everything about it. Maybe f/9 would have gotten the very end of the tail and certainly a lower ISO could have bene used.

The alert pose and clean setting are really nice. The hard shadows on the underside are a minus but it's still a fine image.

The photo is quite lovely KC, I love the classic pose this wren is in, the soft natural colors and the light in the eye. Techs are very good as always.
