Foxglove

There are Foxglove along almost every rural road near my home right now. Mostly the purples and a few whites. I found this one while walking out of an area where I had been shooting a stream in the foothills of Mt Rainier NP. After waiting out the wind and flicking off a dozen or so ants that kept crawling out of the centers of these blooms I managed to get an acceptable shot. Not the greatest bg but if I'd opened up the aperture any more the dof just wouldn't have been there. Thanks for looking.

Bruce, I like the bg. I think it sets off the subject very nicely. I also like the slight tilt to the stem. Lighting looks right on. :toast:

I like this Bruce. I'm with the others about the background. Really sets the subject off, and has some matching splotches of lavender thrown in.

I've not seen the blue variety before. A very photogenic flower and I think by choosing a 70mm perspective that you have captured the flower extremely well. Background looks fine. I like the splotches of blue in the background. Might be tempted to trim a touch off the top if this were mine. :toast:

I like the bg as well, and the light, and the comp. I think you might could crop some from the top and the sides. Well done!

Hi Bruce :wavey: I agree with the comments on this Foxglove. The B.G. and detail are splendid. A crop on the top, and sides would make it even better'

Nicely captured Foxglove Bruce. I'm surprised about the color. Most of foxglove flowers I've seen are purple-red. Be careful, the foxglove is highly poisonous, but on the other side it is also source of some of best drugs used to treat heart conditions. :toast:
