Pale Pink Lilies VIII

by Steven M Kahn

From session number V, the final session with this model, the eighth and final portrait to be posted.

All studio and camera specifications posted earlier. The image is slightly cropped from the original capture. Retouching was done to clean up the petals (removal of pollen). A solitary unopened bud partially in view was retouched out. A small section of one petal was also retouched out. The nik Darken/Lighten filter was used five times for spot tuning the image.

The colour combinations are especially striking in this one, Steven - love especially the touch of bright yellow and the deep glow of the anthers. All beautifully composed, lit and presented - marvellous work.

Another nice one, Steve. The subtle colors are what caught my eye this time. The yellow and pale green along with the pink really stand out. And yet just a bit different comp. SWEET!! :toast: :toast:

What a fantastic series, Steven :toast: :toast: . Beats the Chicory Series last year by quite some margin. I specially like the two Lilies coming out of the bunch and the lighting, of course

Thank you Anthony, Ian, Kathy, Mauro. Mauro, I hope there is a difference in the composition between this one and the last one! The last one had one bud unopened. In this image, the circle is complete.

Thank you Ram. I have to thank Mother Nature and God for the arrangement. I worked with what they gave me. The Chic series was my post "event" therapy, where I went out nearly every day and photographed a different model. With the lily series here, the subject gave me five different sessions to work with "her". And I have gone from shooting on location to working in the studio. I am spoiled.

Another gorgeous and immensely beautiful image Steve. The near dry bloom on the left is a tad bit distracting IMO, but guess that's just personal preference. Looking forward to your next series

Thank you John and David. Thank you Debashis. Debashis, the one bloom you call the "near dry bloom" to me represents a past prime member in the family of blossoms that God and Mother Nature created on this stem. It still retains a sense of beauty and dignity. I often enjoy photographing flowers when they have gone past their prime into what i call "senior" moments. What I liked about this particular arrangement at this stage in the life cycle was the near circle the blossoms make. To use a cliche - the circle of life.

Steve, this is tremendous work. you've got color, texture, comp and everything thinkable down pat here. Love how the images pop out. Although I had to flip through several pages to find your exif data it was worth the tour.
