BBWD in Bayou Sauvage

The black bellied whistling ducks seem to be doing quite well in Bayou Sauvage NWR this season. I often see them on a boardwalk that in the morning faces almost directly into the sun, so not very conducive to decent imagery. However this past Saturday a group of them were perched in another area in much better light. They always seem to prefer man-made perches, so this was all I could get.

Nice shot. I catch shots of them flying quite often around the Houston, TX area.

I like the detail and pose, along with the green screen background :). No nits on the perch, at least from me.

The duck looks wonderful Bill and I think the man-made perch is unobtrusive enough to not be a big deal. Nice light and great head turn.

Nice crisp shot, with a great head turn. The perch doesn't bother me in the least. Like you say, if that's what they prefer, then this is a "natural" shot.

Very good choice of dof, sharp from tip to tip. Wonderful green background. Lighting looks good too.

Beautiful lighting and colors in this one Bill, nice job with the dof and good job minimizing the impact of the man made perch as well. :toast:

Hi Bill,
Sweet image of this BBWD. Very nice directional lighting with good details. Well diffused background that adds a lot to this image.
Thanks for posting,
Ronnie G.

Love the lighting on this Bill. For a man-made perch it's pretty unobtrusive, but i know what you mean.

cheers
