I always enjoyed this bird when I lived in NJ - we were near the northern limit of their breeding range. Here in AZ I've seen only a few vagrants. But none of those NJ and AZ birds like this image shows it.

A lovely image with your standard wonderful soft light. Perfect color. Excellent detail.

Very nice, Ronnie. The cloudy light served well. Pretty cool perch, too. I've always like this species because, unlike most wood warblers, it actually stays lower down and is a little easier to photograph than some of its cousins.

Beautiful little birds, we have them in our wetlands here also. They can be difficult to capture as they don't seem to sit still very long. You have done well with this one on a perfect perch and shown its beautiful colors very well. :toast: :toast: Ron

Tack sharp image and a nicely blurred BG to highlight this beautiful bird. :toast:

great looking shot, Ronnie--in my limited experience with them they are one of the prettiest warblers. nice pose and perch, and nice job with those bright yellows. my only small nit is that the whites at bottom left sort of draw my eye.

Another beautifully crisp shot Ronnie. Don't usually like big perches but this one has such character and the bird's colour helps separate it

cheers

Magnificent! I think the vertical frame suits it well. I'm surprised that he perched in such an open area, since they usually flit among shrubs and small branches. What good fortune and you sure took advantage of it. This is amazingly sharp given the focal length and shutter speed. Well done! :toast:

Beautiful Ronnie, another cheer for the nice soft lighting. Pose is great too, and you did a nice job getting enough DOF with such low light and slow shutter speed.

Love the perch and complimentary bg color for this little beauty, BB. For a common spring visitor, they sure are tough to get out in the clear and sitting still. :toast:
