Here's another multi flash hummer photo from our last Ecuador trip. This was taken at Guango Lodge, it's cropped to 80% of FF.

MkIII 500F4 1/200 F18, iso 640, 580ex at 1/32, 5 Nikon SB-26 slave flashes at 1/16, Gitzo tripod.

Great timing and wing pose. :toast:

A bit too much apparent flash though imho. And if this were mine, I'd probably crop a slice from the top (just below the bug) and left.

Nice job of isolating the hummer Nate. I have thought about trying the multi flash set up for hummer shots, but first need to find a great spot for hummers. I also like the complimentary BG.

nice, Nate. love the flowers, the comp, the delicious colors in the bg. I might try the highlight tool to bring out the detail in the whites--it looks like it's in there, but hard to see.

What a beautiful hummer Nate, I like the wings back at their apex & frozen so well.
Don't know much about how you flashed this, will have to do a google on multi flash..
FIVE flashes? Gee wiz, I'm reminded once again there's so much still to learn
Well done! :toast:

Nate,

I would never imagine this possible but here it is. This is perfectly frozen and the colors are magnificent. I would love to attend one of your workshops.

Beautifully done - love the sharpness and BG - I would follow Marsel's suggestion re. the cropping, but other than that just fantastic.
