Combduck struggling

Combduck strugling for life. This beautiful photo has a sad n tragic story. On the face of it, it's a nice photo of Combduck splashing water, reflecting the colours in a splendid way.
Actually, it was caught by a large Turtle underneath, who was trying to pull her down and bird was struggling to keep afloat. After strugling for more than thirty minutes, she managed to free herself but lost both the feet.
Canon 50D; 500mm; ISO 200; 1/1600 sec. at F 5.

It is a good photo of nature in action. I believe you did well to get this good of a photo knowing what was going on. Thanks for sharing.

After reading about the struggle I am left wondering how to comment. I never knew turtles preyed on birds!

I like the colors and the water everywhere, the story of the lost feet is awful. Better if the turtle won the battle outright.

I don't think I would care to meet a turtle who can nearly drown a duck. Good capture; sad tale.

Very good capture on what turns out to be a hard scene to envision. Looking at the image I would have no idea the bird is struggling for it's life...sad outcome.
