Here's a photo I took last summer. I would have liked to get the entire face sharp, however the wind was blowing the flower around a little and I didn't dare close my aperture down any more for my shutter speed was already quite slow. MY ISO was already at 800 with a Canon XT so I didn't dare increase that any more either. I focused on the eyes and took what I could get.
Manual Exposure, 1/45 sec, F8, ISO 800, Canon 100mm macro, early evening, low light, no flash.
Thanks for looking and all C&C welcomed.
Large version included.

John:
You are venturing into dangerous territory as capturing DF can be 'addictive'. The is a really cool shot and you have done well here. The eyes are really sharp especially in the larger version where the geometric structures are visible. Interesting placement and framing with the wings intersecting across the frame. I also like how the BG fades away with a nice bokeh. Well done. :toast:

Now that's a coloful background! Thanks for including the larger shot, it really show the details of the eyes. Good job under challenging conditions.

I agree with Gary and Wayne: well done to get this in those circumstances. I especially like the colour of the bg, which brings out the critter. Good job!
