Mysterious Valley

I'd like some feedback on this one. It's the last image that I'm still toying with from my Oregon trip last November. I'm not sure how I feel about it -- it's one of those images that's "on the edge", if you know what I mean.

What do you guys think? Keeper or no?

Shot somewhere in central Oregon.

5DMK2, 1/80th, f/8, 55mm, ISO 200 Several dodging/burning adjustments, and some "clarity" selectively masked in to add depth.

Great image, Kory. The processing is really nice. The fog layers the scene quite nicely. :toast:

Kory, I love the way the sky dissappears at the top of the scene, that really adds to the mysterious feel.

Kory,

Certainly a keeper - who wouldn't keep a digital image anyway? Put in the old film terms, I wouldn't throw away the transparency....

I like the foggy, mist and the atmosphere and layers that are created here. However, I'm leaning on the opposite side of Steve's comment and I'm not sure about the bright, blank sky up top. Maybe it would grow on me, but that's my only issue with this one at the moment.

I like the composition and conditions but the sky is just too distractingly bright for me.

Definitely a keeper Kory! Love the tones and the shrouded forest. I'm not 100% sure about the sky, on the hand it works but on the other it is very bright... Gonna have another look later on to see if it changes  :wavey:

Kory, what I like most above this image is the soft light, fog and layering here. I like less the very bright sky and the tree top on the right just jutting up above the mountain ridge. if it were mine, I would not delete it.

I like the layers here Kory. I too find the sky a tad bright but this is a definite keeper.

I think this is quite nice - very expressive IMO.

I like it, but the top is really bright bleeding straight into the 255 background of the forum boarder which is quite distracting. I'd say keep it, if you can control the top tones and keep them just a bit below 255, while retaining detail there.
