Excellent comp and light, Stan. I really like the color the mountain reflection adds to the water.

Stan,

I really like everything about this. Great light, color, composition, etc. also great job in handling that range of light (wait, the "range of light" only happens in Sierra....) :biggrin:

Very, very minor, but you know me, I'll point out any tiny thing... appears to me that the lake level is tilted ever so slightly CCW. I realize the lakeshore is receeding, it's just a perception...

Beautiful alpine image Stan.

Beautiful color and light. I really like the looks of the water and the reflection. I agree with Lon about the water looking a little tilted, but that might be the way it looked. This is another one of those that I really enjoy looking at. Nice work.

Wow! Stunning image Stan. Gorgeous comp, stunning light, perfect shutter speed, ideal snow level, and tack sharp. This is definitely one of my top 10 favorites of yours that I've seen. My only small suggestion is to desaturate the highlights of the reflections just a bit. I find the purplish tint just a tad distracting. Overall, absolutely incredible Stan. Congrats! :toast:

Very nice Stan. You did a great job on the blend, meaning the DR looks very true to how our eyes would perceive this scene. I especially like the reflecting orange light in the water and rocks. :toast:

Thanks, Vincent;
i should note that this wasnt a very tricky blend--i could have made do with one exposure but then i would have had a slightly different exposure on the water--which i didnt want. On tough exposures i might pull all sorts of tricks with luminosity masks etc, but here i just did a quick and easy 2 layer digital grad, since the shadowed area was perfect for a gradual transition.

It's an attractive scene Stan, I like the saturation and in particular in the foreground water.

Dramatic, sun splashed, ridges are awesome, but very common. The foreground really sets this apart! Excellent Stan. I know it's sky snobbery, but a touch of clouds backing this up would have been epic.

Stan, of the images you have posted recently of Isabelle, I like this one the best. The warm sunlit peaks contrasting with the cool blue of the outlet. Nice shutter speed for the water. Golden reflection in the lake and outlet. Sweet!

Stan, I think this is definitely "the one" out of your collection from this trip. Amazing range of tones, the color reflected on the lake is nice, great alpen glow and the cascade is really cool. A great comp.

Most excellent image, Stan. My personal preference would be to warm up the bottom just a bit so it's not quite so blue - otherwise, fantastic! Tilt, if present, is pretty minimal.

Strong comp with lots of impact. I'd love to wake up to this scene any day of the week. If I had any nit, I'd probably prefer the water reflection to be more toward the gold portion of the spectrum rather than the pink. Other than that, this well crafted image more than works for me as presented.
