Chorrillo River

This is an horizontal version of a photo i´ve posted months ago.
Not the best light for this type of scene, exposure was very tricky because the sun sets behind the peak and the top part was more than 3 stops higher than the rest of the scene, i´ve used a 3 stops soft grad and a polarizer and still was not enough to capture the colors and contrast i saw that moment.

Shooted at sunset, Chorrilo River and Cerro Chalten (Fitz Roy), Patagonia Argentina.

5D / 17-40L / SR 3 stops soft grad + polarizer

Comments and critiques are truly appreciated.

This is beautiful Ricardo. The wildness of the scene is caught perfectly with this composition, and your chosen shutter speed portrays the water movement very nicely.

I really like the composition on this, along with the sharpness and detail, way to go.

This is about as sweet as it gets, Ricardo. Love the light hitting the dramatic mountain ridges.

This is a really nice alternative to the vertical photo. The other had a perfectly arranged foreground, but I like the broader view of the background afforded by this format. A viewer wouldn't know that the exposure was tough; you did a great job with it.

You definitely pick up a sweet shot here Ricardo. The soft light works magic in this scene and I can't think of anything I would change.
Nice work :toast:

Great composition with lots to look at. The hint of sun on the peaks is particularly nice.

Ricardo,

"Not the best light for this...." I'd beg to differ. If anything, the last light striking the dramatic peaks is light enough and the entire landscape is nicely crafted. Sure, you could have been blessed with an amazing sky, but the emphasis here is on the landscape, the flow of the stream and the overall sense of place. Fitzroy is simply a nice backdrop...

Looks good to me Ricardo and I like it a lot. I haven't seen many images with a river foreground from there.

I don't remember the vertical, but I sure like this! I don't see any reason to be unsure of this. Excellent!

This is a really fine piece of work Ricardo. The flowing river seems to suit the horizontal format and the light is more than sweet enough to do this amazing landscape justice.

Extremely beautiful Ricardo! I love how the cool tones of the sky reflect the cool tones of the river so the subtle warm light on Fitzroy is that much more dramatic. The flow of the river leading up to the summit is very nicely done as well.
