Summer Grasses

I had fun trying different compositions as the wind was blowing the grasses. Hand holding the camera made it a lot easier.

The DOF works well for me Dan. I also like the different directions that the heads are pointing. I wonder if the color is a bit cool (at least on the monitor that I am viewing this on).

I really like the mild and calming mood to the scene, Dan.

Hand holding creates a lot of freedom for creativity and thanks to good high ISO performance of today's cameras this freedom has increased. This is very pleasing; the DOF works well. A bit cold, but it suits the scene.

Dan,

Lovely and pleasing capture. I also think the selective focus/DOF works very well here letting the foreground grasses stand out nicely. Agree with others as well that this has a cool color balance, but that's not necessarily wrong for this image, just an observation. Nicely seen and captured Dan.

Time to break out the 4x5?

I shoot grass a lot with my 500 Dan and I never get anything I like this well. Nicely composed and I like the mood as well as the subject. Beautiful work.

The combined effect of the wind and the point of view offered by your chosen composition makes for a delightful image. I like it a lot.
