Very nice. That looks like quite a mouthfull of food. The BG is great & I like the angle showing just enough of the tree cavity to complete the story. :toast:

A wonderful image Sandy, I like the pose at the nest. Looks like he's going through a bit of a molt.

Very nice image: good detail; nice pose; fine background; good light. Plus, an interesting bird showing mostly red-naped features combined with some traces of red-breasted genes.

Great photo. Nice colors on the bird. Interesting subject-he seems to be a very messy eater. That hole is so perfectly round. Was it man-made?

Natural woodpecker-made hole, deep in the woods of BC, about 25 feet up the tree.

Hi Sandy,
Nice clean view with a soft light and clean background. The food in it's beak is a plus. It's difficult to determine the feather details at the size posted. Posting a larger image allows us to better critique image clarity.
Thanks for posting,
Ronnie G.

Just sweet - especially to get a hybrid species. There does seem to be a little motion blur on the foot but that doesn't detract much at all
