Very nice, Ronnie! You got a great setting for the egret. Great head turn, interesting perch and nice light. I also like the vertical composition. I only wish the left wing was not obscured by the branch. :toast:

Great bird. Excellent feather detail in the larger image. I have never seen a cattle egret showing this intensity of color here. Glad you shared it with us.

an interesting image with all those right angles, Ronnie. It almost seems like he's standing on a chair. very nice light, colors, and details. I wonder how this would look as a horizontal, cropping from the bottom up to just below the branch coming off on the right, taking a little off the top, and adding space on the left.

Thanks Brian,
The original post was near full frame so I still had a good bit of pixels to work with.

The re-post looks very good. There is a bit of blown out highlights on the right wing, or at least on my monitor, which distracts just a little. Thanks for sharing.

It amazes me how beautifully colored these guys are in breeding season compared to their drab appearance the rest of the year. The soft light and fresh cypress greens set this one off.
