I brought one of these in a couple of days ago to shoot, and just wasn't getting what I wanted compositionally. So, decided to try again today with a different flower and got results that I liked much better.

Kathy, Nice soft peachy color on this Daylily  . I like the angle selected to show the curl on the right on one of the petals. Appears a little soft though.

Kathy, a little tight on the crop on the sides, but because of the black bg, easy to add canvas. Your eye is drawn to the brightest area in an image, which in this case is part of the stem that is the ovary I believe. Is that where you want your viewer to look? Other than that, very nice presentation. Interesting focus. Given the subject - a flower, the softness works for me. :toast:

Kathy: One of my favorite varieties of day lily and a fine capture. I like the lighting except for the bright spot above the stem. I do think I would burn that down a bit. Well done.>=))>

Kathy, I agree with what's been said, but sure like the peach against that black.

Very beautiful and delicate Kathy. The outline and shape of the flower and it's curved petals add to the wonderful image.

Kathy,

I like the point of view and the peach against the black. The stem seems too bright for my tastes relative to the bloom. Otherwise, I like the image.

A little sharpening and a little highlight control as suggested and this will be a hanger!

Beautiful color and comp Kathy, I really like the way it stands out against the BG. Nicely done.
