One more from my last trip. It was a good ocasion to show the Veratrum in its environment, although you can't find these plants on river banks too often.
The fog and a crop from the sides helped simplifying the composition a bit. I'm not sure of the name of the tree, so if someone could provide an id, I'd be grateful.
I'm planning to return to this location to photograph the Rhododendron as soon as the knee heals.

Thanks and check the larger version.

I love it! The composition is well-ordered, despite the apparent chaos and I like how the green tones of the subject are matched by the background in the lower half whilst the grey/browns of the tree are nicely echoed by the upper-half background.

The thumbnail does not do this justic. I was surprised when I clicked on it. It is pretty busy but so well done that it looks really nice to me. Great detail and I like the water in the background very much. You did nice work making this image.

I like the main subject here, the tree and plant work well together. I dont really care for the stream in the back, i find it distracting--i keep straining to see the water but the tree in front is like a spiderweb in my face  Maybe you could go back and chop down the tree...
im kidding of course.

Excellent comp, and a sense of mystery to the light. A very nice intimate scene!

now this a very different take, mate! I like it a lot. very natural looking too. the perspective is really nice here. I can see a vertical comp of the center here, I find the stream on the mid left and branches on the urc a tad distracting, but not that much. nice work my friend!!!

A study in chaos and order. At first I thought the background is dark sky, storm clouds. Then I saw that it is water. Either way the medium dark background enhances the overall effect.

Excellent composition, Dorin! It's interesting how similar the plant life is in your area to some of the alpine areas in the western US.

Love the composition captured here with the centered Veratrum and the branching out vegetation in the bg. Pulls me right into the image. Nice work!

This is really nice, Dorin. The gray background works well here and the structure in the tree is pretty cool, too.

I really like the subject. I think these plants are one of the most aesthetic to photograph. The spider web of branches behind is nice too. The background is not visible enough to justify the amount of effort I put into trying to see it though. It doesn't ruin the shot for me, but I kind of agree with Stan about that.

A very creative image Dorin! And I love the "november mood" in the bg. It is a bit busy for me, but the interesting subject matter compensates. Good work man!

This is really nice, the thumbnail doesn't do it justice. I really like the comp here, and the fog does help give a nice mood.

A very enjoyable scene, Dorin. The medusa-like branches are so interesting and graphic, and the colors pleasing to the eye. Splendid work throughout...

It's not at all easy to pull something like this off, but you got everything just right. It won't suit everyone, but it's surprising success is enough to allure me.

This has some great in your face mood Dorin. It takes some creative composing but nothing you couldn't handle, right? The single veratrum sets the stage. Great background bleeding through.
Well done
