Flora Gallery - 2nd Honorable Mention
Lotus #2

Lotus taken at the same session as the last post. Cloned a small stem near the top of the lotus but otherwise full frame and minor levels, curve adjustment and USM.

D90 Nikkor 105mm iso800 F5 1/1000sec (iso settings left over from shotting BF on lotus and I forget to change it back) HH. The DOF is slightly too shallow to cover the entire bloom but the BG is starting to get untidy at F8. Thanks for looking and C&C appreciated.

The form of this flower really snapped me to attention-- even before I opened the thumbnail! Very striking, indeed.

Gary, sweet capture. DOF right on in my mind. The oof back part of the flower is okay with me. I like the portrait lighting quality on your subject. :toast:

Superb shot Gary. Light, color, DOF all look great. I don't mind the slightly OOF petals as the center of the flower is tack sharp.

DOF is not a problem here, Gary - anything less would have perhaps. Love the soft colors and the water drops. I miss shooting these flowers here. There are one or two dust/dirt locations on the petals which could be removed but they are hardly recognizable.

Awesome work :toast: :toast:

Gary, I don't know from where to begin. The fact is that I love all: the beautiful design of the leaves around the flower, the delicacy of the translucent petals, the contrast of the colors, the lightness of the flower against the shade in the BG. A real beauty, Gary.
Take care.
