Tiger at the jungle pond
by Jagdeep Rajput
Tiger drinking water, makes good subject but getting good pose and habitat is always a concern. And one has to shoot at locations with lots of tourists and jeeps, making it difficult to get a good POV.
In this case, when Tiger was seen coming, all the jeeps rushed towards him. Instead of going to the Tiger directly, I came to this jungle pond and took position, assuming the route he could take. Luckily, everything fell into right place.
Thankyou so much for your kind attention and views!

19 commentsI like this shot very much exactly as posted (tho' I did notice the tilted ripples right away, so I agree with the need for a rotation on the shot). I really like the strong line along the back of the tiger (interesting pattern from this POV!!) and how it leads one to the business end in this shot (the head and tongue). Marsel mentioned his "ear thing" in a post of mine earlier this week (and I find his "focus" on ears very interesting), but I have to say that the position of the ears didn't bother me a lick when I was looking at the image. I find the crop absolutely fine as is - for me you've included enough reflection!
Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Great anticipation of where he might be.
I'd like more of the reflection, but it might not have been possible.
Congrats on a wonderful EP!

Love the details/patterns in the tigers top-coat and face, with the reflection really rounding out the image nicely
