Are they not darling or what? Baby plover at Ft DeSoto This past week. I knew they were in the shore weeds but needed to keep my distance so I set up at the bottom of the hill and waited for him to come back around as the two siblings were just exploring every inch of their little home.

This little guy sure is off the cute scale, Cheryl! Reminds me of ET for some reason. It's sharp enough for me to see the individual hairy feathers on the edges of the bird's profile. However, I think the shadow is hiding some detail on the breast. The detail in the face is better, complete with eye catchlight. However, there too you might try lightening the shadow a bit. Just nits. This is a really interesting, attention-grabbing image. :toast:

Very cute! back lighting birds is not easy but you seemed to pull it off very well. Love the off center composition and how you captured that "I'm exploring" look. Well done. :toast:

That is cute! Nice low angle and I like the inclusion of the sand and reeds.

I love the "knobby-knee's" and imagine a wobbly head as this cute little guy heads down the beach at a high rate of speed :) I like the vertical (centered) lines which bracket him and make it seem like he is coming out of the dunes and headed back to the wetted edge of the ocean. Great picture :jump:

Nice job with the backlit exposure, Cheryl and it certainly is cute. I like keeping it small in the frame to emphasize it's size. The oof foreground is a bit distracting-you might think about taking a bit off the bottom to de-emphasize it. :toast:

Cheryl Iike this alot!! You got the sparkle in the eye, which is so important. And you worked with the light to your advantage. Also, the composition works for me. Big congrats!!
