More from Yellowstone. Lots going on here, for me. Summarized as beauty, death, creativity.

Sure appreciate comments and critique from all who are posting such gorgeous work in ESS lately. Good grief, the places we go and the things we see!

This place is so surreal. I like the hint of blue in the mountains in contrast with the warm tones in the travertine.

Those mountains sure do set everything off nicely. I really like the layers too.

This is lovelly Catherine, everything here works together very well, and your summarization of beauty, death and creativity all round out nicely in this image. Definitely have to get back here as an adult, used to go alot as a child, and have not been back since.

Nice photo. I would have liked it better with only a small portion of the darkish mountain showing. This would zero in on the wood and the contrast with the white and tan.

Consider a crop?? Just scroll you photo down on this site and let the screen top show what I mean.

Catherine,

Excellent. I really like the juxtaposition or visual contrast between the harsh/hot/warm and hostile environment of the sulfur springs against the coolness of the snow-dusted mountains. And what a great nature story to. I love the predicament or story of the last bit of this tree. Reminds me a bit of the end of "The Wizard of Oz" where the WW of the West says "I'm melting... I'm melting..."

My only suggestion would be giving the springs a little contrast, but that's minor.

Great scene and composition. I really like the contrast of warm and cool colors. It may just be my work monitor, but the lower part of the image appears a little bright to me. Maybe a little more contrast as Lon mentioned would help, but still a very nice image.

very good take on this wonderful location. I think I prefer a crop without the mountaintop. The very top detracts a little from the terraces for me.
