Cherry Mountain Lupines

The non-native, invasive garden lupine is becoming a very popular photography attraction in New Hampshire, and why not, they are beautiful and grow is some of the most scenic stream beds and fields in the region.

I traveled around the north White Mountains this weekend to shoot them, and found some good scenes, and missed out on some others. This one really came together for me about an hour before sunset...

Comments and critiques always appreciated!

A very pretty scene Jim. The clouds help a lot too. I might darken both sides of the sky a bit to blend them in a bit better to the darker (polarized) portion.

Very, very nice Jim. I like all the elements here, although the tree near the peak does crowd it slightly. Still though, beautiful exposure and processing.

gorgeous scene Jim. I agree with Marc about the tree. Also, the mountain seems a bit too centered. These are minor nits though...overall this is a beautiful, relaxing, eye pleasing image! :wavey:

Very well composed, Jim. I like the warm light here. I'm not too fond of the polarizer darking in the middle of the sky though.

Beautiful Jim, the trees frame that peak nicely and the lupines of course take the cake!

Postcard pretty! I want to step right into this scene and walk along that river bank. I might be inclined to clone out those three small stems protruding above the left most horizon, if you're open to that. Very nice work!

Very nice light and comp. Can't think of a thing I'd change.

Jim,

A lovely scene with so much to absorb and enjoy. Invasive they may be, but as you mention the lupine sure do add a sparkle to the landscape. The light, the sky, the landscape and colors all melded beautifully.

Very pretty scene, Jim. I like it all. Nice color, light, comp and a great sky to go with all that. Lots of these growing along the north shore of Lake Superior too.

The clouds really make for a complete and picture perfect scene. One possible suggestion, if it were possible to cut more of the reflection with your polarizing filter, that might have allowed more attention to fall to the flowers.
