Tequila Sunrise

Sony A700
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 200, 1/60 @ f22

Going to take a short break from the day lilies to show off this Tequila Sunrise hibiscus. This is a pretty prolific bloomer but the plant is close to the wall of our house and a really pristine subject is rarely positioned to shoot easily. Got lucky with this one yesterday so thought I might share. All comments welcome.>=))>

Bill, you nailed this one! Absolutely lovely! I've seen a lot of hibiscus before, but never this variety. It is really stunning. :toast:

Bill, This is excellent - both the flower and the photography. This looks like one of those "double" Hibiscuses. Like the colors and the slanted composition :toast:

Bill last Sunday I was trying to take some hibiskus photos, but I was not as successful as you are with this image. You managed to capture all the details very well and you have also mastered the light. Well done indeed.

Love the colours of this one. Also have never seen this type of hibiscus. Just the standard florists one so that's a bonus as well. Thanks for sharing.

Wow Bill, what an interesting looking bloom! I love the comp, and the DOF works well. Nice job on the BG, especially at f22!

Great name, subject and image Bill. This one makes me think it's growing as I watch. Lots of energy in the image.

Nice how the b/g contrasts the pistils and stamens. Great orange/peach colors. Tight dof w/200mm and you did well to capture the important contributors. Might have tried a square sided frame...as the red throated petals are nice...but tend to peel a bit of attention away from the main flower head. Beautiful light and details.
