Elbow Falls at Dusk

I had a chance to spend a few days in the Banff/Jasper corridor and on the off chance I thought I'd stop off at Elbow Falls on the way. The weather was perfect and the sun was going down which really helped with this shot. I spent quite a bit of time trying to capture as many images as I could while the light was disappearing. Please check out the larger image.

Thanks for taking the time to stop in and have a look.

As always your thoughts and comments are welcome and appreciated.

The large presentation really gives the sensation of feeling like you are about to go over the falls!

I like the exposure and composition and how it takes me in the river flow to the right and back left to over the falls. A lot to like in this one.

Mark,

The large version is wonderful! As others have just mentioned, it really gives you the feeling of being right there. And while you can't see but just a bit of the actual falls and how deep this might go, the sense of power and almost the noise can be imagined by viewing this. The lovely background and framing of the rock on either side make for an excellent composition as well.

thanks for sharing this one.

Thanks Lon I did wonder if I cropped a little too tight but my reasoning really was to highlight the water going over the falls as the main focus of this image. It really is an amazing place to stand and watch that flowing over the falls. I actually saw 4 kayakers come down the river and drop into the shute and I was so shocked I completely forgot to change the shutter speed so they were blurry. Its a steep learning curve for an old dog but a great place to learn. Thanks all for your comments.
