Canon 7D With EF 500mm F4 and 1.4 tc
1/1000 sec, F 6.3, ISO 400. From the safety of my truck using Bean Bag

Well this morning I drew a blank at many of my typical spots so I decided to risk getting shot at by Long Island's very own hillbilly family. To describe this unique family they are land rich and culture poor. Mom starts downing her beers at 7 am sharp and is proud that one of her boys made it to the big house (Prison).

This all said they do manage to collect a beautiful array of birds.

Very nice shot, I always have trouble with the glossy ibis, never can seem to get any detail. They find a way to always put themselves between me and the sun. Great detail on yours...

Hi Michael,
Didn't realize these birds went that far north. Definetly a beautifully colored bird. I like the pose you captured on this one. I find the light a bit harsh with some bright highlights. You also have a pronounced halo running along the breast which can be minimized with careful processing.
Thanks for posting,
Ronnie G.

Wow, love the quality of the light and the intense colors that ensued. Wouldn't change a thing, except maybe the spelling, Ibis.

Michael,
I really like the pose with the raised foot, the wing iridescence and the color of the bird that matchs with the background. Great work. :toast:
