These three mallard drakes take off from a local pond on a dreary day. It's funny how you don't see the drake mallards, mergies or woodies hanging around before hatchings... but I am new to this. I don't have the tech info handy, but it was shot with the D-60 I believe a few weeks ago. Wish they were flying AT me... thanks for looking!

Bill, I agree with you - flying away is generally not the most preferred flight angle but sometimes it works with the mood of the shot or for some other reason. I like the varied wing positions you caught in the three drakes and I think your comp works well but closer and a better angle would have been preferred for my tastes.

The ducks look sharp and they stand out well against the treed background. The ducks are well spaced and it's a nice composition. I have heard rumors the next Photoshop CS has the "mirror" adjustment tool that enables bird and mammal "butt" shots to be turned around to head on....pretty cool.

Thanks Ron, I also liked at least the three different wing positioins, glad you noticed that as well.

Gary, I read that about the next PS/CS, I think they're calling it the "flip/flopper" tool!! Thank gawd!!! (too funny) :toast:
