From my recent trip to the area. Compression is killing this one.

Interesting. Nice near/far comp. Background maybe feels a bit magenta, but this somehow works with the pink blossoms.

That's a marvelous find. The moss draping the rhodies makes this unique and very beautiful. Superb shot!

The exposure and composition are good. Background mist and trees are too purple/magenta for my liking.

They are two nice color contrasts if you ask me.

Lovely comp! I think theres just a tiny bit too much magenta in the bg. The rhodes never cooperated the whole time i lived out there...

Great comp Richard!! Love the hanging moss. Scene is very tranquil and serene. I too see a bit of magenta in the BG. Easy to correct and a sure keeper!!

Can imagine how it looks like non-compressed Richard. What I like is that the main object stands out from the background. Think I would crop it to portrait format from the left, just along the first tree from the left. But, its a very nice capture for sure. Maybe a little to much greens for my European taste though.

Beautiful Rhodie image Richard. I love the greens, hanging moss and the handful of pink blossoms really sets this off. The luminosity of the greens is striking. My only nit has already been commented on, but I'll just join the bandwagon and wish for a little color tweak the background. Other than that, this is wonderful.
In all my years in CA, I've never ventured to the Redwoods during the bloom. Guess I should one of these years..

This is gorgeous! I was surprised to see it was taken digitally- it has the soft purple tones of velvia that I miss so much with digital. The squarish crop works perfectly and the natural lighting really pulls the foreground in, giving this a richness in depth. Beautiful work!

Lovely comp, colors look good to me. You must have found one of the only bushes with blooming Rhodie's on it. Bonus with the moss! I didnt find many at all, I just got back yesterday.

This is a lovely composition. I was thinking there was something off with the background as well. I see the magenta, but I was thinking maybe a slight bump in contrast?
