This was taken at Yellowstone a few days ago. She is a very good mother.

Beautiful shot Jack - too bad you didn't get the reflection, but really nice nonetheless!

Beautiful frame! I miss the reflection of mama bear, may darken the grasses a bit.

Sweet photo Jack! Excellent composition too, I like the way the pond edge leads me through the photo.

Well done, Jack.
The S curve of the shore line gives it a nice depth as well as breaks the strongest of the vertical tree reflections and lead my eye back to the bears. The log leading from the cub on the left to mama bear is another horizontal line that is very harmonious. The slight pano crop works for me as well. I find the OOF LLHC a little distracting, but only after a viewing for a while.
Hope your fun with these guys continues. Great stuff.

A near-perfect picture postcard, Jack, but why is the image so small? The larger photo size is what the smaller image should have been!

Jack this is by far my favorite image of yours, nothing I would change in my opinion. I too am in Yellowstone at the moment and I photographed this same family today. Not nearly as good of an opportunity as the one you had here though.

Another fine shot of this family Jack. I saw print it very large, frame it and hang it! Love the comp on this one Jack.

I like the comp and especially the reflections of the trees int he water. It is a little too bad you did not have all of her reflection, but that is minor. It is hard to discuss detail at this size, but if it translates as well large as it does at this size I would agree with the suggestion to "frame it."

Wonderful shot Jack! Where in YNP were you? Great composition and lighting, only a reflection could make it better but not by much.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone. It is easy to get a qualty picture with a subject like this family.
I have had several requests for info on the location. It was taken at Twin Lakes just north of Norris Junction, but they have moved on.
