Hi Bob -

These are beautiful flowers and you should be happy to have found them. You are showing a more environmental shot, so I assume that is what attracted your attention: amazing flowers in this woodland. I see the lighting situation and without suggesting changing that, my only thought is to include the entire blossom for each of the flowers. The very ends of the sepals (?) are nipped off and I feel like I want to see them - both sides. Given the situation, I would almost certainly have tried a diffusor. I'd see the effect and maybe say, "nah." Then I'd use a reflector in addition to the diffusor. You get the idea. Great subject - composition- could be improved - light is good, but shoud/could be tweaked.

Pete D.

Bob: I'll pretty much echo Pete's comments but I really do envy you the discovery. >=))>

Neat find Bob. I think the angle is just fine. I do agree with Pete's comments regarding including the whole flower.

thanks for your comments regarding composition. I found a similar photo just shot at a different angle which is more inclusive of the entire plant.
